About
Originally from Eugene, Oregon, in the United States, Megan moved to Prague in 2017 after graduating from Occidental College in Los Angeles with a degree in Cognitive Science. Growing up, she developed a passion for working with children through her first job as a swim instructor and lifeguard, as well as volunteering in a special education classroom. Inspired by her mother, a speech therapist working in early intervention, and her studies in Cognitive Science, Megan developed a deep interest in how children learn, communicate, and grow.
After moving to Prague, she earned her TEFL certification and began teaching English as a Second Language to both children and adults. Since 2021, she has been teaching in international kindergartens, where she discovered her love of working with young learners. She is excited to begin teaching first and second grade, combining her experience in early childhood education with her passion for English language learning. Megan strives to create a classroom where every child feels safe, supported, and encouraged to be curious, build confidence, and enjoy learning.
Work Experience
Megan’s teaching journey began in Prague, where she taught ESL to children and adults from a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. These experiences helped her develop a flexible, student-centered approach that encourages confidence, communication, and meaningful learning. In 2021, she transitioned to teaching in international kindergartens, creating engaging, play-based learning experiences that supported children’s academic, social, and emotional development. She is excited to bring that experience into the primary classroom and help first and second grade students build strong foundations while fostering curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
