Erica grew up in the mountainy countryside of West Virginia in the United States. After obtaining her BA in Arts and Japanese Studies from Salem International University, she moved to Hiroshima, Japan to start her English teaching journey. She first taught ages 0-18 at an English cram school for 6 years. During her time there, she also taught exam classes and seminars, training classes as head teacher, and planned holiday events. After getting married in 2013, she became a primary school English teacher for Year 5 and Year 6 at Inokuchi Elementary School. She was awarded for being one of the top 10 teachers for 2 years in a row. During her 10 years in Japan, she obtained her Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate and was privileged to teach thousands of Japanese students of all backgrounds and ages. Last year, she moved to Dublin, Ireland and taught multi-nationality English classes for adults, as well as, obtained her Certificate in English Language Teaching.Erica comes from a family of teachers. She believes creative, challenging and fun activities will encourage a student’s curiosity, awaken their potential, and enrich their world. Her aspiration is to see children grow into adults who are independent, responsible, and confident multi-lingual communicators.
