Don’t be afraid to fail, be afraid not to try.
Caoimhe, a native English speaker from Ireland has been living and teaching in Prague since 2012. After graduating with a BA in Fine and Applied Art from Hereford College of Art and Design, she taught Art in a variety of educational settings including Primary Schools and Institutes of Further and Higher Education. She decided to merge her passion to teach and her desire to live abroad and undertook an intensive Teaching English as a Foreign Language Course.
She has worked in two International schools in Prague, teaching children of numerous nationalities and varying levels of English. Caoimhe uses her creative skills to make her lessons interactive and engaging, all of her classes for young EAL learners involve an element of art, crafts, playing games or role play. These activities promote playfulness, resourcefulness and risk taking in the students, whilst simultaneously building their confidence and encouraging a natural desire to communicate in English to their peers and teacher.
Caoimhe is up to date with the latest EAL teaching styles and methodologies. She has specialised in Cambridge exam preparation and successfully led students through internationally recognised tests such as PET, FCE and CAE. She is a passionate and caring teacher who tailors lessons to suit individual learning styles and needs in order to reach the maximum potential from all her students. She believes a key feature in language acquisition for young learners comes from an encouraging environment and aims to make every student feel confident and at ease within her class.
